Common questions
We kindly ask that you review How We Gather before your first visit to ensure you feel committed to co-creating the space with us.
Do you allow walk ins?
Depends. “Social Tea” evenings are walk-in friendly with limited seating available on a first come, first served basis. Special events are reservation only.
How does paying work?
Pricing structure depends on whether the evening is a Social Tea evening or special event. Special events are a single price paid in advance.
What is Social Tea?
Social Tea is an open-to-the-public evening with a pay-as-you-stay structure (see below for cost).
Enter the space; check in with a team member to open a tab, start your time, and receive your nourishing tea; stay as long as you’d like and sip tea to your hearts content; check out and leave when you feel ready.
What’s the cost for Social Tea’s pay-as-you-stay?
Pay-as-you-stay entails an entrance fee that covers the first hour with an additional cost for every 30 min. after the first hour.
• $10 entrance fee (covers your first hour)
• +$8/hr after your first hour (charged in $2 per 15 min. increments)
How do I reserve?
See our EXPERIENCE page to make a reservation.
How many people per reservation?
To preserve the tranquility and intimacy of the space reservations and walk-ins are limited to four guests. If you’d like to host a special gathering with greater than four guests, please reach out to inquire.
Can I come alone?
Whether you want to enjoy some solitude or connect with community, arriving on your own is completely permitted.
Age requirements?
All ages and backgrounds are welcome. We ask that all guest be mindful of co-creating a calm, intimate space by aligning with How We Gather.
Pictures and Video?
While a picture here and a video there are permitted, we ask that you limit electronics use to respect the intimacy of guests around you and use your stay as an opportunity to be more present with yourself and those you’re connecting with.
Are laptops & iPads permitted in the space?
Samira Tea is a place of refuge from the business and performance of everyday life. To keep with this intention, we kindly ask that you leave laptops, iPads, and working materials at home. Come be present with yourself and others.
Where are you located?
At the moment, our tea house in San Diego is graciously being hosted by The Rainbow SD. See CONTACT page for address.
